Consul- General Visits Ravenswood

Chinese Consul-General in Sydney, Li Huaxin, meets new principal of Ravenswood School for Girls, Anne Johnstone.

The Consul-General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney, the Honourable Mr Li Huaxin, met with the new principal of Ravenswood School for Girls, Anne Johnstone, for the first time on the 30th of March. Ravenswood’s Confucius Classroom under the Confucius Institute at UNSW, has been one of the most successful, receiving the title of “Confucius Classroom of the Year” in 2015 from Hanban, the Chinese Ministry of Education.

In recent years, Consul-General Li has been active in helping the development of Chinese education at Ravenswood. He gave his congratulations to Mrs Johnstone and expressed appreciation at continuing cooperation. 

Mrs Johnstone extended a warm welcome to Consul-General Li and his party during their visit. She said Ravenswood has always attached great importance to Chinese education and continuing cooperation with China.

Mr Lyu Guijun, Vice Consul-General, and Mr Liu Jianbo, Consul (Education) of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney; UNSW Confucius Institute Chinese Director Associate Professor Emma Xi and School Vice-Principal Mr David Garner were also in attendance.
