Confucius at SME Roundtable

Confucius sponsored and attended an ACBC Roundtable on SMEs

On the morning of 25 August 2015 the Confucius Institute at UNSW Australia sponsored the Australia China Business Council’s monthly Small to Medium Enterprises (SME) Roundtable event.

This Roundtable, held at the Gateway Building in Cirular Quay, level 13, is an opportunity to workshop China business issues, challenges and opportunities, and hear practical business advice from knowledgeable China-experienced ACBC members. Today’s Roundtable was moderated by the savvy David Thomas, Vice President of ACBC NSW and CEO of Think Global Consulting.

The major topic of today’s workshop was sourcing from China. Australian SMEs can feel daunted when approaching the Chinese market, as we are a relatively small customer compared to the American or European enterprises that approach China. The businesspeople gathered provided advice and shared experiences, in the end discussing several ways to overcome this barrier.

The Confucius Institute at UNSW Australia strongly supports initiatives like this one, and we believe the more they occur the greater the trade relationship will be between Australia and China.
