A large-scale workshop was held for Chinese language teachers at UNSW Australia

Confucius Institute at UNSW Australia held a Chinese language teaching training workshop with more than 30 participating teachers, acting as a platform to deepen the relationship between the Chinese teachers affiliated with the Institute and increase levels of cooperation between the Institute and various levels of education institutions throughout Sydney. The topics discussed during the workshop included “Discussing the improvement of Chinese community schools”, “The UNSW Chinese syllabus”, “Music and body learning” and “Classroom management” etc.

A wide range of educators attended the workshop, including Chinese Director of the Institute A/Prof Junfang Xi, the Principals of Datong and Feng Hua Chinese schools, Mr John Meng, Director of the Chinese Language Teachers Association NSW, Mrs Yue from Abbotsleigh School for Girls, Ms Sherrin from Homebush Primary School and Dr Bai and Xiaoming Que from the Confucius Classroom at Ravenswood School for Girls. Mrs Junying Feng from the Consulate-General of the People’s Republic of China in Sydney also attended to say a few words, where she remarked on the mighty achievements of the Confucius Institute at UNSW Australia since its inception in 2009, noting that Madame Peng Liyuan’s visit to the Confucius Classroom at Ravenswood School for Girls was evidence of this.

The Institute was honoured to be supported by China Eastern airlines, which provided two return tickets to China as raffle prizes. General Manager of the airlines, Madam Zhang, also expressed her wish to support the Institute in our endeavours to promote knowledge and awareness of China.
