2016 Shanghai Study Tour

News
This year’s Study Tour took 22 UNSW students to Shanghai for an unforgettable and unique experience.

On June 28, an excited group of 22 students from UNSW embarked on a two-week business study tour at Shanghai Jiao Tong University.

Students participating in the Shanghai Study Tour came from a wide range of faculties, but all shared a keen interest and passion for the study of Chinese. During their stay in Shanghai, they had the opportunity to take intensive language classes to improve their Chinese proficiency and experience life in China first-hand.

Its business focus was also a key component of the trip, with students examining case studies on SAIC Volkswagen and UnionPay International, and undertaking company visits to both these multinationals.

Cultural activities were also on the itinerary, with students greatly enjoying the chance to learn tai chi and Chinese calligraphy. Furthermore, a definite highlight of the trip for students was the day trip to Suzhou. Famous for its canals and rich cultural heritage, this multifaceted city is commonly known as the “Venice of the East”.

The 2016 Shanghai Study Tour was a great success, with students both furthering their Chinese language skills and gaining an enriched and deeper understanding of China.
