One of our very own students, Amy Lyons, won the 2015 Preliminary Sydney round of the “Chinese Bridge” Chinese Proficiency Competition, held on Saturday 30 May at Lend Lease Darling Quarter Theatre.

Out of the 11 participating students from a range of Sydney universities, 5 of them were from UNSW Australia and coached by the Confucius Institute at UNSW in preparation for the competition.

AUCNTV interviewing Amy

Being the First Prize winner, Amy will be heading to China later this year to partake in the international semi-final competition, where she will compete against students from over 80 countries. We are sure the experience will vastly improve her Chinese skills and give her an unforgettable experience.

Our other participants also did exceptionally well in the Sydney competition, with Rosie Davidson and James Oliver receiving Third Prize and Desmond Kohn and Angela Lee both receiving Honourable Mentions.
