Calligraphy Exhibition and Academic Forum
Confucius Institute at UNSW Australia is hosting the esteemed Calligraphy Master Professor He Xuesen to present his calligraphy exhibition “Tao in Image”. The exhibition will consist of around 30 scrolls, the content of which ranges from single Chinese characters written in the running style of xing (行书) to lines of classical Chinese poetry written in the dry, flowing style of feibai(飞白).
The first day of the exhibition will also feature an academic forum themed “Calligraphy and the Future of Chinese Culture” (12pm-1pm) followed by a Reception.
This exhibition and forum is an opportunity to experience some of the most traditional aspects of Chinese culture and art as interpreted by one of China’s most pre-eminent calligraphers and academics, as well as engage in a dialogue of Chinese culture.
